Meet our team

Craig R. Workman, president of Workman Communications Group, is a senior public relations counselor known for helping clients strengthen their brands and protect their reputations through strategic communications. His strengths are in communications planning, persuasive messaging and writing, effective news media outreach, communications team leadership and integrated communications program implementation. He also has deep experience in crisis communications and community relations. Craig has 40 years of professional experience, including the past 27 years as President of Workman Communications Group. He was previously Vice President of the St. Louis offices of two international public relations agencies, Edelman Public Relations Worldwide and Shandwick, and he began his career as a publications editor at Blue Cross of Missouri.

Craig serves on the board of directors of the Concordance Academy of Leadership, a nationally recognized community re-entry program for ex-offenders leaving prison that is significantly reducing recidivism. He is past president of the Public Relations Society of America – St. Louis Chapter and the Mizzou Alumni Association – St. Louis Chapter. He was formerly a member of the St. Louis advisory board for the Exploring Division – Boy Scouts of America. Craig is a 1978 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism.

David Workman has over 25 years of experience helping companies position themselves for success through marketing, advertising and public relations. He is an experienced public relations and marketing strategist who has helped small and large businesses, including Fortune 500 companies, create and execute multi-million-dollar revenue-generating campaigns, guiding them through all phases of strategy and deployment.

David has extensive experience in team leadership, strategy and planning, e-commerce & online marketing, writing and editing, project management, social media content management, core customer identification, media planning and relations, video production and catalogs.

Most recently, David served for four years as the Content Marketing Manager for Propper International, a St. Charles-based tactical apparel manufacturer, where he ran the social media platforms and strategy, wrote all site and email content, crafted thought leadership blogs, and handled all media relations with television, online and print publishers. During his time at Propper, the company’s social media presence increased by an average of over 900% across four platforms under his leadership. He was also the public relations face of the company, writing press releases and conducting on-air interviews for major trade outlets.

In addition, David has led marketing and public relations efforts for athletic shoe brand New Balance, office supply manufacturer Cardinal Brands, fiber optic provider Corning Cable Systems and regional support of the YMCA’s 2010 national rebranding campaign.

Among David’s published works are two books: Absolute Authority, a spy thriller, and Come On Blue! A Fan’s Guide to Umpiring, a non-fiction account of his years as a high school and college baseball umpire.

David served as President of Speakeasy Toastmasters Club #5585 for three years and during his tenure earned his Advanced Communicator Silver designation.

David is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis (Bachelor of Science in Criminology & Criminal Justice) and Webster University’s Walker School of Business (Master of Arts in Management & Leadership).
